Abercrombie & Fitch Auto-Graph -- Main Page
The Auto-Graph was a unique chronograph, introduced in 1953 under the Abercrombie & Fitch name and sold for a very limited time period. There appear to be three versions of the Auto-Graph, as follows:
- the first version was introduced in 1953, and was marked by Arabic numerals and larger registers, with the outer track (which showed miles per hour) using blue numbers
- in 1954, the Abercrombie & Fitch version was changed in three respects -- the hour markers were batons (rather than numerals), the registers became smaller, and the outer track was done with red numbers
- also in 1954, there was a model of the Auto-Graph produced under the "Heuer" name. This version has the same elements as the Abercrombie & Fitch Auto-Graph, and is exceedingly rare.
For additional information on how these chronographs functioned, see the Instruction Sheet, also shown below, or the Advertisements.
