This 1938 Abercrombie & Fitch Christmas catalog includes what appears to be the first chronograph that was made by Heuer for Abercrombie & Fitch.  On page 13 of the catalog, we see a “Wrist Chronograph Watch”, selling for $25.00.  This Abercrombie & Fitch chronograph uses Heuer’s Reference 2403 case, which was introduced in the mid-1930s.  The catalog description indicates that this is a wrist-watch, stop-watch, telemeter and tachymeter combined.  The price was $25.00, making it one of the more expensive items in the Christmas catalog.
